listed security
A security of a company that has met the registration requirements of the SEC and has been accepted for trading on a securities exchange, having complied with the rules of the stock exchange on which it is traded. Such requirements include submitting periodic financial reports and consenting to certain supervision.

A security which has been listed for trading on one of the stock exchanges or which has been listed with the Securities and Exchange Commission
"Unlisted" securities are traded on the over-the-counter markets.
